How can IELTS aspirants beat COVID-19 blues?

The worldwide pandemic hasn’t left any sector untouched. It has affected almost every sector in the worst possible ways. Out of all the sections that have been impacted by COVID-19, the education sector remains at the top.

Why so?

Education forms the foundation of our lives and opens up new avenues for learning and earning sustenance. The global pandemic, however, has coerced us to to stay away from conventional brick and mortar-based education for more than a year now. But, as the world couldn’t afford its future generations to waste an entire year of their life, schools, colleges, and universities began conducting online classes for students. We did save a whole academic year of students through this, but the students preparing for competitive exams still suffered due to the big cloud of ambiguity surrounding their preparation and exam schedules.

The first wave of COVID-19 shut the entire world, but a lot of countries did recover from it or at least, got some stability with time, as was also the case with India till early March 2021. A lot of offices, schools, colleges, universities, coaching classes, etc., had opened up but then the second wave hit us and the situation worsened. It got worse than the first wave. Everything that had opened up is being shut down again, including the coaching classes and other educational institutes. This caused a significant setback to every student as it abruptly halted their studies, exams, and everything else. With lockdowns and curfews being imposed by different states in the country, the students are left in a difficult situation filled with ambiguity.

The preparation plans of the students taking the IELTS exam, which assesses the students of non-native English language speaking origin on their English proficiency have also been badly affected by the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Especially, the students who had booked their dates in advance or planned to appear for the exam to secure an admit to a foreign university this academic year have been feeling helpless with brick and mortar IELTS coaching centers shutting down across the country.

The IELTS exam is claimed to be one of the toughest tests for language proficiency. It tests all aspects of a student's language proficiency, from writing to reading and from listening to understanding and paves the way for students or professionals to study abroad or get placements in companies abroad. This is what makes IELTS an immensely important step in these students’ lives.

Now that all the coaching classes that help one to prepare for IELTS are shutting down, students have got to depend on online video tutorials or their notes for preparation. There sure, are plenty of courses out there offering tutorial videos to ace IELTS but the bigger question is can anyone actually study and wholly understand a concept, especially a language, only with tutorial videos? How does one ask their doubts? Just messaging your trainer and asking them the doubts won't help. And, one can't really explain a concept through messaging, can they? Both the parties need to be interacting one-on-one for the trainer to be able to explain any topic properly and for a student to understand it fully.

But hold on, you don't need to worry about studying for IELTS through these non-interactive videos anymore. What if you have a platform that allows you to study for your IELTS exam from the comfort of your home and that too with a teacher who can clear all your doubts in a virtual class?

At Prepcademy, we offer live interactive classes that help students ace their IELTS score. Students through these live online classes can properly learn all the concepts, ask their doubts to the trainers instantaneously, and clear out all the confusion off of their minds. With a highly-curated and talented faculty, we help students reach their goals and score higher in the IELTS. We also provide mock tests, performance analysis, and much more. Prepcademy is a convenient, economical, and an effective way for you to achieve your desired band in IELTS.
